The position is open to both domestic and international candidates; however, priority will be given to those located in Canada and the US.

Program Description – PhD Scholarships in Public Transportation
There are three streams with details as below:
- Stream A: Regular openings for project-funded postdoc and PhD students.
- Stream B: Western University US-CAN Doctoral Excellence Award
- Stream C: Canada Federal Tri-Agency PhD program
- Stream D: Canada Federal Tri-Agency Postdoc program
Selected candidates will study public transportation, emerging transportation services, and railroads in one or more of the following fields:
- Behavioral modeling and economic analysis.
- Operational research and multimodal and integrated transportation optimization.
- Carbon neural transportation and emissions: empirical research and policy implications.
- Machine learning forecasts and multi-scale spatial-temporal big data analysis.
- Robotic multi-agent algorithms and mobility automation.
Qualifications for PhD Scholarships in Public Transportation
- If an applicant has relevant experience, they are urged to apply.
- Master’s and doctoral students should have a strong interest in transportation research and be highly motivated.
- Postdoctoral candidates should be well-versed in the field or fields and have strong credentials.
- Previous Python, MATLAB, or Java programming expertise is ideal.
