Important Dates & Deadlines

Late October: Shortlisted candidates are required to submit an additional video presentation.

Late November: Shortlisted candidates will participate in an online semi-final interview.

Mid to Late December: Semi-final results will be shared to candidates. Approximately 70 students will be awarded an entrance cash prize of CAD $3,000, which is available to semi-finalists who were not invited to the National Selection Interview. Additionally, 90 finalists will be invited to attend the National Selection Interview.

January to February: Finalists will be announced in January and invited to participate in the National Selection Interview held in Toronto.

March: The Loran Scholar Foundation will announce the new cohort of scholars for the class of 2026.

 Loran scholarship 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to receive the Loran Scholarship, you have to meet a number of significant requirements:

In your last year of full-time secondary/high school or CEGEP.

As a CEGEP applicant, be entering university for the first time in September 2026.

Have a minimum cumulative average of 85% (calculated in the last three years)

Should be a Canadian citizen or a Canadian permanent resident.

Be aged 13 to 19 years old (must be aged 13 years to 19 years old)

Partner public universities in Canada are only eligible to hold the scholarship when it comes to the full scholarship.

In the case of finalists / provincial awards, you may use any Canadian university that is publicly located.

Loran does not just look at academics as applicants require demonstration of character, leadership, service, and commitment.

The applicants should be willing to study in one of the 25 partnered universities in Canada.

The Loran scholarship Programs – Overview
