Fully Funded Postdoc positions in Computer Science: The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the faculty of Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, Concordia University, is currently looking forward to recruiting graduate students for a fully funded doctoral program.

The program is designed for graduates in computer science, electrical/software engineering, or any related fields. It allows candidates to contribute to the cutting-edge research in computer vision, 3D reconstruction, and AI-driven surgical systems as part of the Intelligent AI Systems for Surgical Operation (IASO).

Qualifications For

Fully Funded Postgraduate positions in Computer Science at Concordia University

Interested candidates must meet the following criteria before submitting their applications:

  • Have a PhD, MSc, or bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical/software engineering, or a similar field. 
  • Applicants must demonstrate expertise in 3D geometry (camera models, epipolar geometry, bundle correction), deep learning, and computer vision. 
  • Have strong Python and C++ programming skills, with real-world experience using TensorFlow or PyTorch for vision models. 
  • Knowledge of OpenCV, Open3D, PCL, ROS, or the NVIDIA Isaac SDK. 
  • Knowledge of multi-view stereo pipelines, visual SLAM, or structure-from-motion (SfM). 
  • Have experience creating synthetic data using graphics or rendering engines, such as Unreal, Blender, or Unity (asset). 
  • GPU acceleration and CUDA development experience (asset). 
  • Excellent analytical, experimental design, and scientific writing skills.

About Charalambos Poullis

Charalambos (Charis) Poullis is a tenured professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Concordia University’s Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science. He is also the Associate Dean of the School of Graduate Studies.

His research bridges computer vision with computer graphics, and contributes to the geometry and appearance modeling, classification, segmentation, and tracking, as well as practical work in virtual and augmented reality.

He obtained a PhD in computer science from the University of Southern California, an M.Sc. in computer science with a focus on multimedia and creative technologies, and a B.Sc. in computing and information systems from the University of Manchester, UK.
