The Department of Computer Science at the University of Regina is currently on the mission to recruit motivated graduate students for Summer & Fall 2026.
The position is based on the intersection of Decentralized Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, focusing on building secure, privacy-preserving, and intelligent systems that protect critical infrastructures such as healthcare, industrial IoT, and smart environments.

About Abbas Yazdinejad
Abbas Yazdinejad works as a postdoctoral scholar in the University of Toronto’s Artificial Intelligence and Mathematical Modelling Lab. His work focuses on cybersecurity, federated learning, artificial intelligence (AI) governance, and health-care privacy.
In addition to working as a security AI scientist with the Global South AI for Pandemic and Epidemic Preparedness and Response Network and the Africa-Canada Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation Consortium, he was named one of Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists in 2022–2025.
