- Interview with the scholarship selection committee for those applicants that are short-listed.
Qualifications for the $50,000 Arrell Scholarships in Canada
To apply for the Arrell Scholarship 2026, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Candidates must apply to the University of Guelph’s qualifying master’s program.
- Their suggested study must align with the Arrell Food Institute’s (AFI) goals and objectives.
- Candidates must exhibit both leadership potential and excellent academic performance.
- Candidates should also demonstrate interest in multidisciplinary collaboration and their commitment in the community.
- Must be entering a master program in F26 at the University of Guelph
Application Process for the Arrell Scholarships
Applicants must submit both an Arrell Scholarship Application and an application to a graduate program at the University of Guelph in order to be eligible for one.
Step 1: Submit a completed application for admission to a graduate program at the University of Guelph with a plan of research that is compatible with the AFI’s vision (e.g. food security, plant science, consumer behaviour, diet and nutrition, etc.).
Step 2: Complete the Arrell Scholarship Application and send it in by the due date. An application for the Arrell Scholarship must include the following components:
- A current resume
- A statement of research interests and personal motivations (no more than two pages, plus an extra page for citations);
- Unofficial transcripts
- Reference letter completed
